Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has reportedly been involved in a training ground bust-up with one of the club’s academy players.

The 26-year-old, who wasn’t included in France’s 25-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar, was involved in an altercation with one of the Red Devils youngsters in a training session at Carrington on Wednesday.

According to The Mirror, Erik ten Hag was forced to temporarily halt the training session due to the heated exchange involving United’s number nine.

With several of United’s World Cup stars currently in the Middle East representing their countries, the former Ajax manager called-up several of the club’s youngsters to train with United’s remaining first team contingent.

The report from The Mirror states that the aforementioned youth player in question is Dan Gore.

Gore reportedly crashed into Martial with a heavy challenge which triggered a furious response from the former Monaco youngster and resulted in a confrontation between the pair.

The report from The Mirror adds: “Martial is alleged to have lashed out and caught the teenager, who is said to have stood his ground against the striker.

“The pair were pulled apart, with Gore told by Ten Hag and his staff that tackling first-team stars was off-limits in training games.”

Martial, who has only started three games this season, is said to have apologised to Gore and the matter has been resolved.

Despite Christopher Nkunku and Karim Benzema pulling out of France’s World Cup squad due to injury, Didier Deschamps opted against calling Martial up into his Les Bleus side.

Gore has become accustomed to training with United’s first team stars at Carrington and Ten Hag has encouraged a competitive environment within his crop of players.
