Manchester United needed a goal from centre-back Victor Lindelof to earn a 1-0 home win over Luton.
It was not the first time a defender has popped up to save Manchester United in front of goal this season, amid a misfiring forward line.
Raphael Varane scored the winner over Wolves, Harry Maguire headed the winner at home to Copenhagen, and Diogo Dalot curled in a winning goal against Sheffield United.
At the weekend, Victor Lindelof added his name to the list of Manchester United matchwinners this season with a clinical finish to secure a 1-0 win at home to Luton.

Victor Lindelof praised
Victor Lindelof was preferred as a starter over Raphael Varane, with seemingly first choice Jonny Evans joining Lisandro Martinez on the treatment table.
The call from Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag paid off, with Lindelof scoring the winner in the second half.
Lindelof sent a message out on Instagram after the game, writing: “A special afternoon at Old Trafford. Great way to bounce back.”
He clearly enjoyed it, helping United to keep a clean sheet and move up to sixth in the table.
Lindelof received a reply from former United teammate Anthony Elanga, now at Nottingham Forest, who is his colleague in the Sweden national team.
Elanga wrote: “What a player”, while captain Bruno Fernandes sent an animated message which read, “Wow”.

Manchester United fans can wonder about Copenhagen
Raphael Varane was preferred off the bench against Copenhagen in midweek and played really poorly, with Manchester United losing 4-3.
Victor Lindelof being selected for this game suggests an admission from Erik ten Hag that he may have made the wrong call, and we can only wonder if it would have worked out differently in Denmark if the Swede had come off the bench instead.
