Newcastle and Sweden winger Anthony Elanga has revealed that he has not lost touch with one key area of development that he experienced at Manchester United.
The 24-year-old Swedish attacker climbed through the ranks of the Manchester United youth academy before he broke into the first team at Old Trafford.
However, Anthony Elanga struggled to establish himself as a regular in the first-team squad and the former United talent saw his playing time limited at the club.
The Sweden international made 55 appearances for the Red Devils and netted four times and registered four assists before United sold him to Nottingham Forest.

Anthony Elanga explains why he was reminded that he was not the ‘finished article’ at Man Utd
Anthony Elanga saw his value rise to new heights after his £15m move to Nottingham Forest, with the former Red Devils winger finally coming into his own.
The former Manchester United player’s impressive spell at City Ground led to Newcastle dropping a hefty £55m to bring him to St James’ Park last summer.
Elanga made 49 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle in his debut season and netted only three times and registered two assists for his side.
Speaking to Footballer Fits, the Newcastle star admitted that his development at United ensured that he never became complacent with improving as a player.
“And thankfully for me, growing up at a big institutional club like Manchester United, I had loads of good people around me,” he said.
“Just good support to help me just keep my feet on the ground and telling me that I’m not a finished article. I’ve just got to keep pushing and keep working hard.
“And I think that’s helped me now to deal with different things.”

From Man Utd to Newcastle, Anthony Elanga shares an important message that he took from his playing career
Elanga is currently on World Cup duties with Sweden after he was called up to Graham Potter’s squad for the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The former Nottingham Forest ace admitted that he has noticed the difference in his mentality now at Newcastle compared to when he was a youngster at United.
“The older you get, the more you realise that you just need to have fun,” Elanga added.
“And always remember that when you [were] a kid, you didn’t have to worry about any outside noise.”
Elanga has featured in both of Sweden’s World Cup matches so far and the former United star has netted once against the Netherlands in a 5-1 defeat last week.
