Anthony Elanga continues his electric start away from United with dazzling Premier League performance

Manchester United decided in the summer that it was best to part ways with their Swedish winger, Anthony Elanga.

The 21-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements and was subsequently shipped out by Erik ten Hag to fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest for £15m.

Elanga has certainly settled in well. His highlights have to be his debut against Arsenal which saw him pick up an assist, before providing the only goal of the game as they beat Chelsea.

But his efforts against Luton Town may have been his finest moments yet.

Anthony Elanga vs Luton

The Swedish wonderkid was simply superb as Forest drew 2-2 with newly promoted Luton Town.

It was an enthralling encounter, with Elanga right at the heart of everything good for Nottingham.

He got both assists for Chris Wood which sent the home side two goals to the good.

The first was a clever first-time pass into Wood who chipped the helpless goalkeeper, but the second was where he really showed his class.

Elanga danced on the left-hand side with a few stepovers, before sending a looping ball in which his striker converted with his head.

There was little Elanga could do to see his side crumble in the last ten. The Forest defending was woeful as their two-goal lead was wiped out by the Hatters.

Anthony Elanga’s game by numbers

As sourced from Sofa Score, here are Anthony Elanga’s statistics vs Luton.

It really is great to see him thriving away from Manchester.

The young lad is a decent player, but he never really was going to make it at Old Trafford. His level is certainly the Premier League, but Elanga will work best in a team like Forest, where he has the freedom to express himself on the pitch.

Chances would have been too far and far between at United. It’s nice to see him excelling on the pitch
