Former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira left two years before Sir Jim Ratcliffe became co-owner and invested heavily in improving training facilities, but the Brazil international claims Palmeiras’ training complex is the best he has worked in.
Although Andreas Pereira left Manchester United in 2022, the 29-year-old remained a Premier League player up until his Fulham exit in the summer.
Pereira had been a key player in Marco Silva’s side before joining Palmeiras in the summer, having previously enjoyed a loan spell at Flamengo in 2021.
The Belgium-born Brazil international became a United academy graduate in 2014 when he came off the bench for Saidy Janko in a 4-0 defeat to MK Dons in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
After spending 11 years at Old Trafford, Pereira has now suggested that the facilities he is now working with at Palmeiras are far superior — yet it’s nothing United’s first team needs to worry about.

Andreas Pereira aims subtle dig at Man Utd’s previous training facilities
It is no secret that the Glazers ignored the need to invest heavily in infrastructure around the football club, including Old Trafford and the training facilities.
That is why Ratcliffe has been quick to get the ball rolling with new stadium announcements on top of a £50m makeover on United’s training complex at Carrington.
The improvements to facilities for the first team were unveiled in August, and there are also plans for the Academy building to be redeveloped.
Anyhow, United’s previous training facilities didn’t leave much of an impression on Pereira, who has also played for PSV Eindhoven, Valencia, and Lazio.
“Compared to what’s out there, it’s the elite of football,” Pereira told ESPN Brasil in reference to Palmeiras’ training centre.
“Few clubs have the structure Palmeiras has. I’ve worked for several big clubs in Europe, and I can say that Palmeiras has the best structure I’ve ever worked in. Better than Manchester United when I was there.”
Pereira has made seven appearances since joining Palmeiras, scoring one goal and registering one assist.
He featured 75 times for United’s senior team after breaking through the youth ranks.
Man Utd training upgrades missing key function
The Sun claims United upgraded their training facilities for the first-team without including a laundry facility.
Although it was designed to modernise the club’s training operations to benefit Ruben Amorim and his players, none of them will be able to wash their gear after sessions.
United are having to outsource its laundry services as a result.
The club has not made a public comment about the lack of a laundry service for the first team at Carrington.
