Anderson reveals how Paul Scholes left one of his Manchester United teammates in tears with a crunching tackle.

Paul Scholes was one of the greatest midfielders to have played for Manchester United, renowned for his passing and iconic goals from distance.

What Scholes wasn’t renowned for was his tackling. The former England international received 146 yellow cards and six red cards in his 716 appearances for the club.

Anderson reveals in a new podcast with former United teammate Rio Ferdinand how hard training could be at times, especially if someone stepped out of line.

Have you seen Paul Scholes score a better goal than this wonder-strike vs Aston Villa?

What a hit! 🔥

The technique on this volley is absolutely insane!

Paul Scholes made Nani cry

Scholes was a no-nonsense type of footballer, blessed with technical ability.

The United academy graduate and member of the Class of 92 could create space on the pitch. He had a huge influence on Sir Alex Ferguson’s most successful sides.

In Ferdinand’s latest interview for Rio Ferdinand Presents, Anderson reveals how Scholes left ex-United winger Nani crying after a tackle and the reason for such a crunching tackle on a teammate.

“The training, always the training, yours is harder training,” Anderson said.

“People think, you know, Manchester, no, but the training is very hard, yours. Always competition. Me against Scholes.

“Scholes make Nani cry, I remember one time.”

Ferdinand followed up with a question, simply asking ‘why’, prompting a response from Anderson.

“I forgot why. Because I think in Fulham, I think Nani, gave Gary Neville a kick in the knee.

“I think he complained, Gary Neville. After Scholes come, BAM!

“The boy shot Nani, Nani go cry.”

Why Anderson won’t visit Man Utd

Ferdinand quizzed Anderson on whether he would return to Manchester to visit Old Trafford.

Anderson has no interest in doing so.

The Brazilian has concerns over the way the club is now being run, fearing it has become unfamiliar to the club he left 11 years ago.

“I know you know the club changed.

“You know why I don’t like to go to the club? People would say, why are you coming to Manchester to not go to the club?

“I don’t go to the club because I think the club is not the same people anymore there. I don’t think it’s the same security. Because always Manchester is family club. Because when I come to Manchester, Ronaldo would say to me like this.

“You know Manchester after two years, Anders. Your first year, you don’t go and understand Manchester. The second year, you don’t go and understand. Go and understand Manchester the third year.

“Because that club is special, man.”
