Manchester United loanee Amad has named Red Devils teammate Marcus Rashford as the best player he’s ever played with.

Amad, who is spending the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Sunderland, has won the Vertu Motors PFA Fans’ Player of the Month Award in the Sky Bet Championship for December 2022.

The 20-year-old scored three times for the Black Cats during the course of the month, which helped Town Mowbray’s side secure wins against Millwall and Wigan Athletic, as well as slotting home a penalty against West Bromwich Albion.

The four-time Ivory Coast international has been in blistering form for the Stadium of Light side and from his 20 appearances, 13 of which been starts, the former Atalanta wonderkid has scored six goals and laid on one assist.

Amad names Marcus Rashford as best player he’s played with as well as weighing in on Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi debate

After winning the player of the month award, United and Sunderland’s number 16 undertook a quickfire Q+A with the Professional Footballers’ Association.

When asked to name the best player he’s played with, Amad didn’t hesitate and responded by saying “Rashford”.

Amad has only played alongside United’s in-form number ten on three occasions, but the talented left-footer will no doubt be hoping to challenge Antony for the right-wing berth under Erik ten Hag, upon returning to Carrington for pre-season next summer.

Why Amad did not name Ronaldo

Amad had the opportunity to train alongside former Red Devils striker Cristiano Ronaldo when he wasn’t out on loan with either Sunderland or Rangers – but did not play with him.

Even in pre-season against Rayo Vallecano, Ronaldo was subbed off, when Amad came on.

Despite having the opportunity to learn from the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, it’s clear where Amad stands on the debate between who is considered the greatest of all time between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

When asked who would he love to play with, Amad named the World Cup winning Argentine.

He also named Paris Saint Germain’s number 30 as his favourite player of all-time.
