It’s a sign of progression to see Amad Diallo nominated for the monthly Premier League awards, especially during his breakthrough season as a regular in the first-team.
Amad Diallo was regularly overlooked before this season, but he looks even more settled under Ruben Amorim than he did when Erik ten Hag was the United manager.
The Ivory Coast international is one of the first names on the teamsheet under Amorim, and he’s taking his chances in the United shirt to warrant more opportunities.
It looks like Amorim favours Amad over other options in multiple roles, including as a wing back, which is one of the positions United are lacking in at the moment.
Amad has been one of the few silver linings in what has been a difficult season for United, sitting 14th in the Premier League and slipping closer to the relegation zone.

Amad Diallo up for Premier League Goal of the Month award
In the 90th minute of the Manchester derby, Amad received the ball courtesy of a Lisandro Martinez pass. The winger lifted the ball away from the onrushing Ederson with his first touch.
Amad finished it off by calmly side-footing it on the volley from a tight angle.
The goal has now been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month award, along with seven other nominees, including Matheus Cunha’s strike against United.

| Tariq Lamptey (Brighton) | vs Leicester City |
| Amad Diallo (Manchester United) | vs Manchester City |
| Enes Unal (Bournemouth) | vs West Ham |
| Cole Palmer (Chelsea) | vs Fulham |
| Matheus Cunha (Wolves) | vs Manchester United |
| Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) | vs Everton |

The goal sent the away end at the Etihad wild and we’ve had little to shout about this season.
Amad will be aiming to build on it between now and end of the season. The 22-year-old has 12 goal contributions, including goals and assists, in 27 appearances this season.
Amad looking for another big moment against Liverpool
It’s been a dire season for United thus far. The biggest highlight yet has been United’s 2-1 win over Man City and we’re hoping for something similar when the Reds travel to Liverpool on Sunday.
Amorim has a full week of training to prepare United’s first-team to face Liverpool in the Premier League.
Arne Slots side sit top of the Premier League, while United are 14th, closer to the relegation zone than the top four.
Amad’s moment of magic against City will be needed again when United travel to Anfield.
The Ivorian has already scored against Liverpool – last season, when he stunned Jurgen Klopp in the FA Cup.
