Amad Diallo made an eyebrow-raising decision with fans after the Manchester United winger chose a former Red Devils defender ahead of a club legend.
The 22-year-old Manchester United star is expected to play a key role for Erik ten Hag’s men in the 2024-25 Premier League season.
Amad Diallo missed the opening months of the 2023-24 campaign after a pre-season injury in 2023 before returning to fight for his place in the first team.
The Ivorian forward struggled for regular playing time last season under Erik ten Hag, despite United fans wanting to see more of him on the pitch.
But Diallo made the most of his time and made his mark on the pitch, including scoring a sensational winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The United winger was a standout performer for the Red Devils during the pre-season this summer, with Diallo now challenging for a starting place in the team.

Man Utd star Diallo plays ‘this or that’
Amad Diallo featured in a video for the Manchester United Foundation on Instagram and took part in a ‘this or that’ challenge featuring legendary players of the past.
The Ivory Coast international was forced to choose from United players who will feature in the ‘legends match’ against Celtic at Old Trafford on 7th September.
Diallo kicked things off by selecting United legend Paul Scholes over Nicky Butt before picking Dimitar Berbatov ahead of Diego Forlan.
The former Atalanta man struggled to decide between Darren Fletcher and Antonio Valencia and insisted that his final choice would be both former players.
Diallo snubs Man Utd legend
Following on from Darren Fletcher vs Antonio Valencia, Diallo was presented with none other than United legend Denis Irwin and Wes Brown.
Diallo paused for a brief period of time before surprising fans by picking former Red Devils defender Wes Brown ahead of Denis Irwin.
Irwin is arguably the best left-back in United’s history and the 58-year-old Irishman enjoyed incredible success at Old Trafford.
The former United full-back is thought of highly after his stunning career, with Red Devils legend Sir Alex Ferguson even dropping the ultimate compliment on Irwin.
Diallo’s final ‘this or that’ pick was between none other than legendary former United captain Bryan Robson and iconic ex-Red Devils striker Andy Cole.
However, the Ivorian attacker didn’t hesitate on this occasion and immediately picked United legend Andy Cole ahead of Bryan Robson.
