Manchester United and Ivory Coast attacker Amad Diallo has dropped the ultimate compliment on a Premier League talent that he has faced on the pitch.

Amad Diallo is currently away from Old Trafford after he was called up for international duty with the Ivory Coast for this summer’s World Cup tournament.

The 23-year-old Ivorian forward featured in all three of Ivory Coast’s Group E clashes against Curacao, Germany and Ecuador at the World Cup.

Amad has made an impact for the Ivory Coast after he scored the crucial late winner against Ecuador at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia earlier this month.

The Manchester United player talked up his experience of playing against Calvin Bassey and how the Fulham star is a “crazy player.”

“I think Calvin Bassey [is underrated],” Amad said.

“He’s so good. He’s a crazy, crazy player. I think he’s so underrated.”

The history of Man Utd star Amad Diallo and Fulham defender Calvin Bassey

Amad has crossed paths with Calvin Bassey twice as an opponent, both of which have come during his breakout success in the United first-team squad.

The Ivory Coast international faced Bassey in Man Utd’s 1-0 Premier League win over Fulham in the 2024-25 season and the 1-1 draw in the 2025-26 campaign.

However, Amad and Bassey also shared a brief history of playing alongside one another during their respective times at Scottish side Rangers.

The United star was loaned out to Rangers in 2022 after the Red Devils had signed Amad from Serie A outfit Atalanta in 2021.
