An opening goal by Manchester United star Amad Diallo helped steer the Ivory Coast to victory over Burkina Faso to progress into the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
Holders Ivory Coast made light work of their AFCON Round of 16 tie by beating Burkina Faso 3-0, with Amad Diallo getting on the scoresheet after 20 minutes.
The goal came when Burkina Faso struggled to win back possession at the edge of the box before the ball landed at Amad’s feet.

With his eyes on the goal, Amad ran through three defenders before dinking the ball over the goalkeeper.
The Elephants doubled their lead 12 minutes later when Amad registered an assist for United-linked Yan Diomande.
It was evident throughout the game that the Burkina Faso defenders were unable to live with Amad.
The United star was replaced after 81 minutes, after he completed 93% of his passes and touched the ball 58 times.
In the latter stages of the game, Bazoumana Toure made it 3-0 against Burkina Faso.
Ivory Coast’s win means that United fans will have to wait longer until Amad returns to Old Trafford. They take on Egypt in the quarter-finals on Friday.
