Amad can follow in Bale and Bellingham footsteps with award win

Manchester United youngster Amad has been nominated for the Championship Young Player of the Year Award.

After an underwhelming loan spell at Rangers in the second half of last season, Manchester United had to get Amad‘s next loan move right.

Thankfully, the club look to have got it right. Amad has been a big success for Tony Mowbray’s Sunderland, scoring 11 goals this season so far.

He has now been nominated for a prestigious award, the Championship Young Player of the Year.

Sunderland’s website described Amad’s contribution this season as ‘outstanding’ and then added, “he has won over the hearts of the Sunderland supporters thanks to his eye for goal and mesmerising skill.”

Amad is one of three nominees for the award along with Bristol City’s Alex Scott and Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney.

Being nominated for this award is a big deal. You need only look at the list of previous winners. They include some big names, including Gareth Bale and Jude Bellingham.

Amad could really lay a marker down for his future if he goes on to be crowned as the award winner later this April.

Amad will be in esteemed company if he wins the award, and just being nominated shows he is on the right track, and that his loan move has been a big success.
