Manchester United youngster Alvaro Fernandez has been awarded Preston North End’s Young Player of the Season Award.
As loan deals go, Alvaro Fernandez‘s move to Preston North End has been a quiet success.
Now Fernandez’s efforts have been validated after Preston named him as their Young Player of the Season.
This was the 20-year-old’s first loan spell away from Manchester United and it has seen him pick up valuable experience.
Fernandez, yet to make his Manchester United first team debut, played 42 games in all competitions for Preston, 29 of which came as a starter.
The former Real Madrid youth prospect also managed to provide six assists, showing an ability to impact games positively.

Alvaro Fernandez second award in 12 months
This is the second award Alvaro Fernandez has won inside the past year, following recognition he received at the end of last season.
Fernandez was named as United’s Denzil Haroun Award winner, given to the under-23 player of the year.
He was sent out on loan in early July to Preston, and did not get the chance to try and impress new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag first hand.
The Dutchman may be intrigued enough to take a look at him this time around in pre-season, when United head to America on tour.
As for what happens next, another loan move might be Fernandez’s best option, especially if there is an opportunity to play in the Premier League.
