New Manchester United signing Altay Bayindir has been pictured in training at Carrington for the first time.

Altay Bayindir clinched his move to Manchester United early on transfer deadline day, signing from Fenerbahce for a deal worth £4.3 million, BBC Sport reported.

Bayindir will go straight into the squad to face Arsenal at the weekend, where he will back-up first choice Andre Onana.

He has been signed to replace Dean Henderson, who has joined Crystal Palace on a permanent basis.

Altay Bayindir was pictured training at Carrington alongside the rest of Manchester United’s goalkeeping cohort.

This included FA Youth Cup winner Radek Vitek, who will be providing cover as third choice while Tom Heaton is out injured.

Erik ten Hag praised Bayindir at his press conference, commenting: “We followed him, scouted him very intensely and we think he has the skills to fit in Man United, to fit in English football.

“So, we are really glad that we signed him and we are confident that he will make a lot of progress in the coming period in the coming years and he will be a huge contribution to our game.”

There was another face joining Manchester United’s group, reserve goalkeeper Jacob Carney.

Carney is a free agent after he was released by Sunderland in June. He was previously on Manchester United’s books, leaving the club in 2021 to join the Black Cats.

Carney, 22, was on the bench for Manchester United’s under-21s at OId Trafford against Leeds a fortnight ago.

He had previously trained with the United first team back in 2020 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The MEN reported early last week that Carney was on trial at United and has been impressing behind the scenes.

He was wearing the number 60 in the training session which could indicate United are looking to bring him on board and offer him a contract.

United are yet to communicate whether Carney has signed or not, and a decision can be taken after the deadline. At present, he is just the fourth goalkeeper in training until Heaton returns.
