Not many Manchester United players are doing well at the moment, but one youngster who has been a bright spark in recent times is Rasmus Hojlund.

Rasmus Hojlund joined Manchester United from Atalanta in the summer transfer.

The 20-year-old Denmark international striker cost an initial transfer fee of £64 million.

United are paying Hojlund £84,000 per week as salary.

It is a considerable outlay on a player who is only 20 years of age.

Rasmus Hojlund doing well for Manchester United

Hojlund had injury problems when he arrived at Old Trafford, but he has recovered now and is doing well for United.

The striker gave a good account of himself after coming on as a substitute for United against Arsenal in the Premier League.

The Manchester Evening News rated his performance 7 out of 10 and noted that the striker “showed real quality in the goal that was chalked off”.

The Sun was impressed with the Dane’s display against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The striker started the match and got 7 out of 10 in Player Ratings.

The Sun noted that “his full debut was encouraging” and observed that United fans did not like it when manager Erik ten Hag decided to take him off.

And in midweek, the youngster was among the goalscorers against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Alan Shearer’s worry about Rasmus Hojlund

Former Newcastle United striker and BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer has been impressed with Hojlund so far.

The pundit, though, is worried that the striker could be affected by what is happening at United at the moment.

The Red Devils are struggling on the pitch and are not performing well.

There is also the ongoing issue of the takeover and Ten Hag falling out with Jadon Sancho.

Shearer said about Holjund on The Rest is Football podcast: “I like his movement. I like his energy. I like his enthusiasm.

“There’s obviously much more to come from him. I hope he is allowed to show that.

“I hope he doesn’t get drowned under the pressure in terms of what’s happening at Manchester United.”
