Manchester United have had some phenomenal shot-stopper over the years.
The likes of Peter Schmeichel, Edwin van der Sar, Alex Stepney and David de Gea are just a few of the immense keepers to have kept Old Trafford safe over the years.
But Manchester United have also had some absolute disasters between the sticks. Victor Valdes, Fabian Barthez and many more come to mind when talking about this subject.
But none may have had a worse time at The Theatre of Dreams than Massimo Taibi.

Alan Shearer on Massimo Taibi
Speaking on the Match Of The Day Top 10’s, Micah Richards, Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker all sat down to speak about the best ‘worst goalkeeper blunders’ in Premier League history.
Taibi came up in discussion, with his howler against Southampton, where Matt Le Tissier’s shot squirmed through his legs into the back of the net. They had the following to say about the Italian’s mistake.
“It was probably Le Tissier’s worst-ever shot! said Lineker. He’d usually knock it in the top corner. It was a dribbly, kind-of… it just went through him didn’t it!”
“Can you imagine though trying to follow Schmeichel?” Shearer replied. “The greatest keeper ever at Old Trafford and you make a mistake like that. He couldn’t recover from that.”
Taibi’s mistake was an all-time blunder
Taibi only played four times for Manchester United, with the blunder the only thing, sadly, he’s remembered for during his time at Old Trafford.
“I honestly do not remember how that mistake happened,” Taibi reminisced to the MEN. “Unfortunately, it was a hiccup. To this day, I do not know how it was even possible.
“The media were bad but it was part of our job – my team-mates were all wonderful with me. I used to think about it a lot but I don’t as much anymore.”
He did go on to have a long playing career for numerous different sides – but it was always going to be a tall order to turn it around at Old Trafford.
