Manchester United have had some serious playmakers in times gone by.
The likes of Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Ryan Giggs and so many more were masters of the craft when it came to setting up their teammates.
This led to some simply spectacular goals being scored at Old Trafford by the first-team squad over the years.
But one sticks out in the mind as arguably the nest in Manchester United’s history. Alan Shearer even believes it was nearly the best in Premier League history.

Speaking on BBC Sounds MOTD Top 10’s, Gary Lineker sat down with Shearer and Micah Richards to discuss their top ten assists in Premier League history.
There was only one Manchester United shout in there, which was Dimitar Berbatov’s assist against West Ham United for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Bulgarian produced what Lineker called an “unbelievable bit of skill” on the byline to beat his man, which is now known as the ‘Berba spin’, before fizzing the ball across goal to where Ronaldo met the pass to slide home.
Shearer said the goal got “everyone off their seat”, but it still couldn’t claim the top spot.
It should arguably be first…
The panel all collectively agreed that the top spot actually would go to a very recent Premier League assist in Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak vs Everton.
Isak initially picked up the ball somewhere near the halfway line and dribbled past three Everton defenders with some Messi-esque control before squaring to Jacob Murphy to tap home.
It was an incredible assist, but were they a little biased? Lineker had no say, Richards obviously has an anti-United agenda and Shearer is a Magpies fan.
Nevertheless, we’re sure the Bulgarian would be happy to come second spot to that marvellous assist anyway.
