Manchester United have scored some phenomenal goals over the years.
Wayne Rooney‘s overhead kick against Manchester City, David Beckham‘s halfway line strike and Eric Cantona‘s saucy chip are up there with some of the best strikes the Premier League has ever seen.
With top goals, come top goalscorers – which United have had in abundance. They could score with their right, their left and, in this case, their head.
Alan Shearer and Micah Richards agree that one of Manchester United‘s, somewhat underrated goalscorers, scored the ‘best header in Premier League history’.

Alan Shearer and Micah Richards on Chicharito header
On an episode of Match of the Day Top 10’s – Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker and Micah Richards sat down to discuss the best-headed goals in Premier League history.
Shearer and Richards always pick their top 10, with Lineker hosting. They both agreed Javier Hernandez, otherwise known as ‘Chicharito’, scored the best header in Premier League history.
Shearer began: “He just had to adjust every part of his body and swivel around and just do whatever he had to do, so that’s why I have him at number one. We can all run and plant a header, but a lot of thought had to go into this one.”
“I have to agree on that,” says Richards. “It was a great header.”
Shearer then continued: “I know it wasn’t that far out, but just the way he had to adjust and do all those things whilst getting it on target – that’s why it’s number one.”
Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez header vs Stoke City
With the scores level at 0-0, the ball was headed across the box towards Hernandez, who leapt into the air and provided what was an ingenious backwards header to send United a goal to the good.

He doubled his tally for the day in the 86th minute, scoring the decider against Stoke to give United all three points. Ladies and gentlemen, the best header in Premier League history.
