Dean Henderson could make his Crystal Palace debut away at his former employers on Tuesday night with the £20 million goalkeeper returning to Manchester United for the Carabao Cup third round.
Now, we all know how this tends to go. ‘Curse of the ex’ anyone?
Dean Henderson is yet to make an appearance since his £20 million move to Selhurst Park in the final week of the summer transfer window but that could change tonight, Crystal Palace going head-to-head with Manchester United as Roy Hodgson looks to de-throne the cup kings in their own kingdom.

Man United sold Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace
“We will have to wait and see on that one,” Hodgson said at his pre-match press conference, speaking to the Palace website about the potential of a Henderson bow at Old Trafford.
“But we are more than happy with him both in training and as a person. We think that it is a very good signing the club has made.
“I shall make a decision on Tuesday night which one of the goalkeepers will play. We have got three goalkeepers, but I suppose the main ones are Sam (Johnstone) and Dean.”
Johnstone, of course, is another who came through the ranks at Manchester United. He is currently Crystal Palace’s number one; Henderson sitting on the bench during each of the last three Premier League outings.
Palace’s star striker touch and go
Hodgson, meanwhile, confirmed that both Michael Olise and Matheus Franca will be unavailable tonight. Odsonne Edouard is likely to undergo a late fitness test too; the striker with five goals in seven games picking up a hamstring issue during Saturday’s bore-draw with Fulham.
Edouard’s absence would be a boost for a United side still contending with an almost unprecedented defensive injury crisis.
“We haven’t had a chance to assess it yet,” Hodgson says. “But (Edouard) definitely felt something in his hamstring. That is not good because, in recent times, anyone who has reported even a minor injury in their hamstring or their calf, suddenly they have an MRI and it’s three to four weeks.
“Maybe that won’t be the case. Maybe this will be the exception that proves the rule.”
