Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mebri, alongside Rasmus Hojlund, has been one of the few bright sparks for the Red Devils this season.
Erik ten Hag gave Hannibal Mejbri a chance against Burnley after the Tunisian midfielder netted against Brighton & Hove Albion in a 3-1 defeat for Manchester United.
Mejbri looked impressive at Turf Moor and looked lively against Crystal Palace. His energy from midfield is exactly what the Red Devils had been missing.
However, the midfielder was dropped for the Premier League game against Palace and hasn’t really featured much since in a strange decision by the former Ajax coach.

Hannibal’s impact
As mentioned, the Tunisian, who was brought into the club from AS Monaco, certainly made an impact in the games he has featured in.
It seems, however, that due to the sheer amount of midfield options that United currently has, Mejbri is the fall guy and will miss out.
The midfielder loves to dribble with the ball where he can which offered United something different so it does seem a bit strange that the 20-year-old has not received more game time.
It seemed the Dutch manager was enthused about the performance of the United man when he spoke last month.
“I think he gives a very good message to the rest of the squad,” Ten Hag said, “that this is the demand, this has to be the standard when you are playing in a position, what you have to bring to the team, to get success.”
Hannibal to replace Bruno
Bruno Fernandes has struggled recently and you wonder if, alongside another midfielder in Casemiro, he needs to be dropped from the team as a kick up the backside.
Mejbri deserves an opportunity and despite the Portuguese midfielder being the captain of United under Ten Hag, he shouldn’t be immune to criticism or being dropped from the United first team.
The Tunisian midfielder seemed to dovetail well with Mason Mount and the pair, playing in front of Sofyan Amrabat, could add the bite and enthusiasm that the team needs.
