Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri has turned his career at Old Trafford around recently after he avoided an exit this summer.
The Tunisian international has long been an exciting talent in the minds of Manchester United fans.
Arriving from AS Monaco as a youth prospect, he was worked his way through the ranks and impressed on-loan in the Championship for Birmingham City last year.
Now he finds himself regularly in the match-day squad and making impressive cameos for United in the Premier League.
His status as a first-teamer was solidified last weekend with his belting strike against Brighton at Old Trafford was is a shoe-in for goal of the month.
Hannibal bounces back after disappointment
Earlier in the season as Manchester United faced Nottingham Forest, Hannibal was left out of the squad as he missed the bench.
This left many assuming that he would be departing on a loan, this is something The Athletic have reported made Hannibal upset.
“He was so upset at missing out on the bench against Nottingham Forest that it seemed he would be leaving on loan, but he stayed and scored as a substitute against Brighton & Hove Albion on his third United appearance.”
Quite the turnaround in a matter of weeks as he has now forced himself into the plans of Erik ten Hag, which even saw Hannibal turned to before Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho last week.
Will he get a chance from the start?
Given Manchester United’s poor form and individuals struggling it wouldn’t be surprising to see Hannibal named in the starting line-up.
With midfield being the sides biggest issue currently, we don’t see a reason he shouldn’t be given a chance, especially with how poor Christian Eriksen is right now.
He is a name we think would actually be ideal to play against Burnley depending on who is fit.
He has already shown multiple times he has everything to be playing at this level, so Erik ten Hag should let him prove he is ready.
