Noam Emeran has been pictured in first team training as Manchester United prepare to face Barcelona on Thursday.

The 20-year-old prospect has been photographed working with Erik ten Hag’s stars before they fly out for the huge clash.

Emeran is still waiting for his senior debut after some bad luck with injuries during his development but will hope to impress the manager given the chance.

United are a bit light on depth in attacking areas, and that has handed young players opportunities to be on the bench at various times lately.

Facundo Pellistri is the latest to benefit, and he is being slowly eased into the first team picture by Ten Hag, despite being a full international.

Time will tell if and when Emeran will be ready for that, but the bigger matchday squads in European competition opens up more spaces for youngsters on the bench.

Elsewhere, there is no sign yet of Antony, Scott McTominay or Anthony Martial, who all missed Sunday’s game at Leeds through injury.

Casemiro can play in this game because his suspension is domestic, but Marcel Sabitzer will miss out because he is banned for this one.

That does not do much for United’s depth, as they keep playing games every few days with largely the same players, although Ten Hag did try and give some defenders a rest on Sunday.

It is a huge month for United, and at the end of it, they could have knocked Barcelona out of Europe and won the EFL Cup.

If Emeran plays any part in that, he would no doubt be delighted, and he has to keep knuckling down, working hard to impress.
