Sunderland fans have taken to Amad over the course of the season, with his lively displays seeing him live up to his billing as a Manchester United’s future first team star.

On Monday, Amad booked in a return to the Stadium of Light, helping Sunderland book a play-off spot for next weekend.

Amad fired his side to a 3-0 victory away at Preston, which coincided with Millwall losing 4-3 at home to Blackburn, enabling Sunderland to clinch a sixth placed finish and the final play-off place.

Amad scores again

Amad scored the opening goal of the game in Sunderland’s win, a thumping effort from outside the box into the top corner.

It was an illustration of why their fans have taken to him, and now he will have one more game in front of Sunderland’s supporters next weekend.

Sunderland host Luton Town in the play-off semi-final first leg next Saturday. All eyes will be on Amad, and he has deserved the attention.

This season Amad has 16 goal contribution in the Championship, 13 goals and three assists. Whether he adds to this in the play-offs or not, it has been a successful campaign.

If Sunderland make it all the way and win promotion, there will be talk of whether Amad would be better off on loan with them in the Premier League. That’s a discussion for if it happens.

But with Manchester United struggling to score goals, a player like Amad could really be useful right now, let alone next season.
