Manchester United somehow managed to get a point from Liverpool in the Premier League.

Somehow, Manchester United drew 2-2 with Liverpool at Old Trafford. A scoreline that simply boggles the mind given the abysmal showing that was Erik ten Hag’s side in the first half.

Nevertheless, goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo equalled those of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah, meaning the points were shared in the Premier League on the day.

It was, ultimately, a day to probably forget for Manchester United regarding performance – but one moment will remain in the minds of fans and the player himself for some time now.

Kobbie Mainoo Magic vs Liverpool

How good is he? We simply can’t get over the absolute gem the Red Devils have on their hands with Kobbie Mainoo.

As if the season he was having wasn’t good enough – he now has an absolute wonder strike against Liverpool of all sides at Old Trafford to add to his repertoire.

The 18-year-old’s strike was reminiscent of Federico Macheda‘s, but unfortunately did not have the same outcome regarding winning the match.

Even so, another moment for him in his breakthrough season to simply relish. He spoke about his campaign post-match:

“It’s been enjoyable, tough, but I’m playing for my boyhood club on the biggest stage, so to be able to adapt, for these fans and everything around it, I can’t complain.”

Neither can we, Kob.

Gary Lineker on Kobbie Mainoo

The entirety of the footballing world now knows the quality of Manchester United’s academy graduate, and he’s been receiving praise left right and centre.

This includes from former Premier League striker, Gary Lineker, who took to X to write: ‘Mainoo for Man yoo! What a talent.’ after his strike went in.

This was one of just thousands of Tweets in adoration for the United talent. What. A. Player.
