United in Focus has picked out three Manchester United players who disappointed in tonight’s 4-2 friendly defeat to La Liga side Cadiz.

Erik ten Hag’s Red Devil lost their opening mid-World Cup friendly against the side that currently sit 19th in La Liga.

The twenty-time league champions face Real Betis on Saturday before returning to domestic action against Burnley in the Carabao Cup fourth-round in two weeks time.

Here were the three Manchester United players who disappointed in the defeat to Cadiz.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

The 25-year-old failed to grasp his opportunity and there is every chance that a start against Real Betis on Saturday could potentially be Wan-Bissaka’s last appearance in a Manchester United shirt.

United’s number 29 offered nothing going forward and Cadiz had great joy getting in behind the former Crystal Palace man.

It wasn’t a performance from a man who looked desperate to fight for his United future, it was more of a display of a man who looks resigned to his fate.

Youngster Marc Jurado looked far more comfortable in possession than Wan-Bissaka after coming on at half-time.

Donny van de Beek

Despite having the opportunity of being United’s chief creator with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen not forming part of the travelling party, United’s number 34 was once again on the periphery of proceedings.

The former Ajax man didn’t bring anything to the party and everything about his game was safe.

Anthony Elanga

It was a frustrating night for the Swede, and he struggled to link up with Brandon Williams down United’s left-hand side.

United’s number 36 was sloppy in possession, and he got a grilling from United’s captain in the first half Scott McTominay for inexplicably being offside.

Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Martial both gestured their frustration following Elanga’s sloppiness in possession and the 20-year-old will be hoping to fare much better against Betis on Saturday.
