Manchester United bounced back from conceding an early goal against Melbourne Victory to take a 2-1 lead at half-time.
Scott McTominay scored an equalising goal from long range, from a shot which took a heavy deflection.
Then in the final minutes of the first half, Anthony Martial gave United a lead from close range after a good team move involving Jadon Sancho, Diogo Dalot and Anthony Elanga.
MUTV pundit Denis Irwin picked out Martial and Sancho for their bright performances, before United made a host of half-time changes.

Sancho and Martial praised after first half
Irwin told MUTV of Martial’s goal: “That’s a centre forward finish. It’s good that he’s in the box.”
He added of Jadon Sancho, who began the move, “He looked the likeliest do something for us.”
Sancho and Dalot had success teaming up down the right, showing positive signs they might be able to link up effectively this season under new boss Erik ten Hag.
Martial now has two goals in two games, after netting in the 4-0 victory over Liverpool.
United made 10 changes at half-time, bringing on Tyrell Malacia, Alex Telles, Eric Bailly, Ethan Laird, Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal, Donny van de Beek, Amad, Tahith Chong, and Marcus Rashford.
The first 45 minutes saw Harry Maguire get his first 45 minutes of the season underway, with United picking a strong line-up.
Raphael Varane and David de Gea were missing from the squad, with James Garner also absent.
