Manchester United battled hard against Arsenal to progress in the FA Cup on Sunday evening.
10-man Manchester United qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup following a long battle against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side.
United beat Arsenal 5-3 on penalties to book a fourth-round tie against Leicester City at Old Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes and Gabriel scored the only goals in normal time.
United were reduced to 10 men when Diogo Dalot was dismissed for a second bookable offence and Altay Bayindir saved a penalty from Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.
Bayindir was the hero again in the penalty shootout to deny Kai Havertz from the spot.
With a fourth-round tie against Leicester City on the cards, United should find the next round a little easier, but they would be naïve to underestimate the Foxes.

Ruben Amorim praises Arsenal performance
Although it won’t help Mikel Arteta after crashing out of the FA Cup, Ruben Amorim admitted in a BBC interview that Arsenal didn’t deserve to lose.
It was a funny comment from the newly appointed United head coach because he was rightly convinced that his side deserved to win and progress in the competition.
Amorim also credited his players for how they fought and competed for every ball.
“Thankfully the players were there, they fought,” Amorim said. “Sometimes what we talk about before the match is not tactical or technical, it’s this. We have to compete no matter what, no matter what the situation we competed today.
“We deserved to win, Arsenal didn’t deserve to lose but we deserved to win.
“The way we played, the way we fought was really tough since the beginning.
“We didn’t have the ball too much but we had control without the ball.”
Bastian Schweinsteiger celebrates Manchester United win
Former United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to congratulate the team on their big win.
Schweinsteiger, 40, made 35 appearances for United between 2015 and 2017.
The World Cup winner experienced success in the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal during his first season at Old Trafford.
Hopefully, United can go all the way in the FA Cup again this season.
