Manchester United just about got over the line on Thursday night against Rangers in a 2-1 win.
It was a win which came in typical dramatic Old Trafford fashion.
Things are never done the easy way by Manchester United. Despite dominating the game for long periods, it took a Bruno Fernandes injury-time goal to secure the win.
It should never have come to this, with multiple chances to kill the game including Joshua Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho having some chances inside the box.
United won 2-1 in the end, but Amorim wasn’t thrilled as he admitted to TNT Sports, he wants his side to start finishing chances.
“We need to be more clinical in the right moments. That can help us a lot.”
After the game, Amorim had some words for one player who was culpable for missing a chance or two.

Ruben Amorim wants more from Alejandro Garnacho
Against Rangers, Garnacho was one of United’s best players, and during the game the crowd let him know all about it.
After the game, Amorim gave his verdict on Garnacho’s performance.
Speaking to club media in his post-game press conference, Amorim admitted that he wants more from Garnacho, even suggesting he has already told him how to improve.
“I think he is improving in every aspect of the game. He was better today playing inside, also outside and changing positions.
“He is improving the recovering position and until 90 minutes he is always there and helping. Sometimes he shows some frustration because he wants more.
“I think he has the potential to be so much better and in these situations of the game.
“But what I can say is he understood what I am trying to do and I just want to be clear, I am trying to help them. In the end, it is them that do the job.”
Amorim breaks silence on Garnacho leaving Manchester United
As expected, the subject of Garnacho’s future was also levelled at the boss on Thursday after the game.
Amorim gave nothing away in his response but did emphasise that nothing is agreed upon and that the 20-year-old was important for United against Rangers.
“I am focused on the games and he is here, he is here playing for Manchester United. He was really important for us today so let’s see in the next days.”
It sounds as though Amorim would like to keep Garnacho, however, this may be out of his hands considering Ineos’ transfer experts who are in charge.
Either way, it seems we will find out this week. Hopefully, he stays.
