Cristiano Ronaldo put Manchester United ahead against Tottenham with a wonder goal which rolled back the years.
Ronaldo doubled his tally for 2022 on his return to the side after the injury which kept him out of last weekend’s Manchester derby.
His other goal of the year against Brighton was spectacular, an early hit from outside the box which sent Old Trafford wild.
And this one was even better, latching onto a Fred pass to give Hugo Lloris absolutely no chance and put United 1-0 up.

Ronaldo’s former United teammate Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter to react to the goal, praising and defending his former teammate in equal measure.
Harry Kane pegged back United’s lead from the penalty spot after Alex Telles was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty box.
But Ronaldo wasted no time in putting United back in front 2-1 before the interval, converting a Jadon Sancho cross.
United did not dominate the ball throughout the first half and Tottenham’s wing-back system looked dangerous, but Ronaldo’s quality shone regardless.
Gary Neville said that United were not good enough out of possession but Ronaldo’s quality elevated the performance and got Old Trafford rocking.
Absent midfielder Bruno Fernandes also posted on Instagram about the goal, celebrating Ronaldo’s instant riposte.

He also commented on the VAR decision which allowed the goal to stand, saying that it has finally worked in United’s favour.
