Manchester United are still unbeaten under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a comfortable 3-0 away victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
A double from Paul Pogba either side of a sumptuous Anthony Martial strike sealed the win and ensured United prepared for tonight’s visit of French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the perfect way.
The visit of the Parisians is perhaps Solskjaer’s hardest assignment yet but United are absolutely flying right now and have nothing to fear.
But who will get the nod in the starting eleven? Solskjaer made a host of changes for Saturday’s match – with one eye on tonight’s huge game – and we’ve had a look at who might get the nod…
Goalkeeper and back four
David de Gea captained United at Craven Cottage and is nailed on to start, with Luke Shaw most likely to be tasked with shutting down Kylian Mbappe.
Ashley Young, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly should all come in for Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling to give United a backline with experience, speed and calmness.
Midfield trio
The importance of both Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera in liberating Paul Pogba was illustrated by the fact that all three men started at the Cottage, where the Frenchman was majestic throughout.
The trio have become settled as United’s first-choice midfield three and the energy of Herrera and Pogba in particular will be imperative if Solskjaer is to rack up another win.
Front three
Martial was as good as Pogba on Saturday and the fact he faced the press alongside Solskjaer provided further evidence – if it was needed – that he will get the nod again tonight.
Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata faced Fulham but produced very little threat – although they did combine to win the penalty – and the speed of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard will most likely be reintroduced.
