Manchester United cannot stop scoring right now, with a 7-0 thrashing of Barnsley.
Tuesday night was a great night at Old Trafford as Manchester United thumped Barnsley 7-0 to build on Saturday’s 3-0 win over Southampton.
It was the biggest win Manchester United have had under Erik ten Hag by far, with the previous biggest being 4-1.
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for United, with his first goal in particular being impressive and reminding us of the Rashford we all came to know and love.
Alejandro Garnacho stole the show though, with two goals and two assists. Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen also got himself a brace.
Antony also got on the scoresheet, converting from the spot.

Marcus Rashford sends message after seven-goal thumping
Going into the game at Old Trafford on Tuesday night fans were hopeful of goals, although expectations were low considering how we watched Newport and Wigan give Ten Hag’s side a battle last season.
However, it ended up being one of Ten Hag’s biggest wins in his career, and the two main men were Rashford and Garnacho, now the former has sent a message out on Instagram.
“Qualified!” Rashford commented, before continuing, “Well done lads.”
The United No.10 then wrote directly to his teammate, Garnacho: “Thanks for the reminder @garnacho7”, he explained in relation to his famous celebration which had disappeared over the past year.
Rashford’s celebration became a staple of watching United weekly in early 2023, but has of late been absent, so to see it back and Garnacho getting him to do it is an excellent sign which shows the forward is on his way back.
Garnacho responded to this with emojis, indicating the celebration and angry emojis too.
In the comments also was Rasmus Hojlund, who will be chomping at the bit to get back into this currently free-scoring team, he wrote: “Yes Rashyyy”.
Erik ten Hag deserves plenty of praise
Rashford made it three goals and an assist in his last two games, a run which will have him full of confidence for the first time in a very long time.
After the Liverpool defeat, Rashford was public enemy number one among United fans, despite the fact he created three chances in the game.
Despite this, Ten Hag stuck by Rashford, always backing him to get back to the levels he has shown so often throughout his United career.
This loyalty and faith have paid off, with Rashford finding his feet, smiling and looking like he is enjoying his football once again.
This is all ahead of a trip to Selhurst Park where his qualities will be needed – and where Ten Hag has a proper conundrum on his hands.
Rashford, Garnacho and Amad Diallo are all in top form, which makes dropping one a nightmare.
