Manchester United are back to square one after a loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening, three players in particular were poor.
Manchester United were atrocious in defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday in a display which looked like a massive regression from what we saw on Tuesday.
In the absence of Rasmus Hojlund the successful frontline which exacted a devastating comeback against Aston Villa was broken up with Antony coming in on the right.
Alejandro Garnacho was shifted to the left and Marcus Rashford played up top but these moves were a big hindrance to the team’s all round performance.
Rashford was on the scoresheet with Garnacho grabbing the assist to score United’s sole goal in the 2-1 defeat to Forest.
With the game all done now, here are the three players who performed worst in the horrid loss.

Antony
The most obvious name on the list is Antony who was appalling once again in the red of United.
Back in his preferred position, he contributed very little and struggled to impact the game in the same way even Amad Diallo did upon his introduction.
Antony picked up an injury which led to his withdrawal, but this likely spared his blushes as he probably would’ve been hooked anyway given how bad he was.
SofaScore rated his display a generous 6.7 out of 10 in which he lost possession 12 times, completed just one dribble and failed to make a key pass, have a shot or really contribute anything else of note.
Scott McTominay
Another who was hugely disappointing was Scott McTominay as he continued his downward spiral with a poor second-half cameo here.
McTominay was poor against West Ham and was equally bad here as he found himself partially to blame for both goals conceded as he refused to track back.
He contributed very little outside of just being there in this instance and no doubt Ten Hag – although he denies it – will be regretting the decision to replace Kobbie Mainoo with the Scottish international.
Andre Onana
While it could’ve been a number of players, Andre Onana gets the final spot in the three worst performers here.
Ultimately, it wasn’t so much what he did but more what he didn’t as he made zero saves in the game and according to SofaScore, prevented -0.99 goals which effectively means he did nothing.
His distribution was still solid, ranking at 90% but it did little in the way of pushing United up the field instead primarily being short passes to the centre-halves.
Despite Onana being decent this season, he’s now conceded 27 this campaign which isn’t good enough no matter how it’s painted.
