Manchester United suffered a 3-0 defeat to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and have been dumped out of the competition that they won last season.
Erik ten Hag’s side, purely due to their lack of goals, were really out of the competition at the first half, as turning around a two-goal deficit just always looked unlikely.
Gary Neville, who was on Sky Sports commentary, was becoming more and more frustrated with the team as time went on, and described them as an under-9s team.
Here are the three worst players from the defeat at Old Trafford and it’s not hard to choose who these players were.

Diogo Dalot
Diogo Dalot had done so well to regain his spot in the United first team and was one of the few players who looked somewhat competent for the Red Devils.
Well, Wednesday night’s performance from the right-back was one of his worst in a long time. It was so bad, in fact, that the former FC Porto man was substituted at half-time.
The defender was easily played through and struggled to get into the game at all and was correctly taken off for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who looked promising when he came on.
Antony
Antony, the £86 million Brazilian, is a divisive figure at Old Trafford. Some believe he just needs time for a better-attacking right-back behind him for the wideman to flourish.
Others, however, believe that the winger is simply not good enough and his 8 goals since he joined the club highlights exactly this.
This was not Antony’s finest hours as he once again cut a frustrated figure after kicking out against Jeremy Doku in the Manchester derby, three days prior.
He struggled to get going in the game and took a few wild shots from the edge of the box which typified the frustration that the fanbase had with him during the game.
Casemiro
It’s a sorry state of affairs for United and indeed for Casemiro that he has been substituted at half-time yet again for the Red Devils and there wasn’t a massive reaction to his removal.
The Brazilian, once again, looked so far off the pace for the Red Devils and was rightly substituted for Sofyan Amrabat but he too didn’t look sharp enough in the middle of the park.
What the future holds for the former Real Madrid midfielder is unknown but the Brazilian deserves criticism and you wonder if this may well be his final season at Old Trafford, things are that bad.
