Manchester United’s three most disappointing players against Watford

Manchester United have thrown away two points in the race for Champions League football with a 0-0 draw against Watford.

That makes it five points dropped against the struggling Hornets this season and it hands the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal a boost.

It was not an awful team performances, with chances created but they were wasted with regularity and that feeds into the players who disappointed the most on the day.

We’ve taken a look on an afternoon where United really should have made more of the openings they made…

Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo was brought back to United to make the difference and score the goals in tight matches like this one, but he did not deliver today.

The Portuguese superstar passed up chances to shoot he would usually take and did not look as confident as we have come to expect when he did get his shots away.

It is still just one goal in 2022 for Ronaldo, and he had more than enough chances to add to that here in what would have been a vital win.

Bruno Fernandes

As per WhoScored, Bruno took eight shots on the day but only managed to get two on target which sums up United’s profligacy.

United did get slightly wild with their passing and shooting as the desperation built to get a winner with a host of attacking players on the pitch in a 4-2-4.

Bruno, like Ronaldo, was involved in the creation of opportunities and did not stop trying but he was frustrating in the sense he could not make more of what came his way.

Paul Pogba

After a disappointing display in central midfield on Wednesday night, Pogba was moved to the left of the front three as Rangnick made four changes here.

He was unable to have the impact he would have liked, even when he was moved back centrally when chasing a goal.

Pogba still does not look fully match fit and faded in terms of sharpness and intensity as the game went on and it is fair to say he is not at his best right now.
