Manchester United’s disappointing period of form continued with a 1-0 defeat against Frank Lampard’s struggling Everton side.
We have taken a look at three of the players who did not hit their best on a day when the team performance was not up to scratch…

Marcus Rashford
Rashford was left out last weekend when Cristiano Ronaldo missed the 1-1 draw with Leicester and that drew plenty of debate.
Ronaldo was back here, but Rashford also came back in, with Paul Pogba and Anthony Elanga dropped to the substitutes’ bench.
He played on the right wing, where he never looks fully comfortable and was withdrawn with United chasing the game.
It was another frustrating outing for the England international, who needs some form, fitness and confidence from somewhere.

Alex Telles
Luke Shaw’s operation gave Telles a chance to shine here and he knows that he has a number of weeks to impress until the England international is fit again.
It did not get off to a good start here as United never looked comfortable down his flank throughout the game.
On top of that, his set piece delivery was underwhelming and it is not the first time that has been the case lately either.
One of the many frustrating things about United lately is players who have been on the fringes failing to take opportunities when they come.

Jadon Sancho
Sancho has been among United’s better players of late but he was unable to influence proceedings here, as the game got away from United.
Sancho was left out of the England squad in March and would have been hoping to keep his form up to make himself indispensable for Gareth Southgate.
That certainly was not the form he showed here and he will be hoping for a swift return to the levels he was showing before the international break.
