Manchester United capitalised on Manchester City’s draw against Nottingham Forest with a 3-0 win against Leicester City, closing the gap between the two sides to just three points.

Here’s a look at the player ratings from United’s latest result in the Premier League against the Foxes…

David De Gea – 7

Made an outstanding save early on to deny Harvey Barnes an opener for Leicester and kept the visitors at bay in what was an even first half before being largely untested in the restart.

Diogo Dalot – 6

Should have scored in the opening half having bottled a golden chance from six yards out whilst also struggled against Leicester’s wide-attackers when defending. He will be thankful for De Gea’s performance in the first half.

Victor Lindelof – 6

Showed his rustiness at a Premier League level with Leicester enjoying some good chances against De Gea as Lindelof struggled in patches. Like Dalot, the Swede was lucky to keep a clean sheet in the opening half.

Lisandro Martinez – 7

Saw an open header early on in the second half clip off the crossbar. On the defensive side, Martinez faired better than Lindelof despite failing to make the Manchester United XI for the last two matches.

Luke Shaw – 7

Unlike Dalot, Shaw enjoyed another comfortable performance down in his favoured left-back position. Had little work to do defensively and was a constant crossing threat from deep for the Foxes.

Fred – 6

Another assured performance from Fred without playing alongside Casemiro. Assisted Rashford’s second goal of the afternoon and is starting to form a good relationship with Sabitzer.

Marcel Sabitzer – 7

Sabitzer has settled quickly at Manchester United and was once again a calming presence in the midfield for the Red Devils. Christian Eriksen seemed impossible to replace, but the Austrian has more than stepped up to the plate.

Bruno Fernandes – 9

Made two assists and was the creative heartbeat for Manchester United from minute one. Fernandes has been due for a big performance for a while, and the Portuguese international us showed that today.

Wout Weghorst – 7

Started again in the attacking midfield role and was impressive playing behind Rashford. Linked well with Fernandes and was a needed physical presence in the forward line for Manchester United in Ten Hag’s new attacking system.

Alejandro Garnacho – 4

Substituted off at half-time having struggled to create much in the opening 45 and allowed Leicester’s attackers to flourish down their right side. A day to forget for the young Argentinan.

Marcus Rashford – 9

What can we even say about Rashford that hasn’t already been said? The England international took his tally to 24 in all competitions as the attacker made another strong claim to being the most in-form forward in world football.

Subs:

Jadon Sancho – 7

Turned the match from a potential three points to a guaranteed win for Manchester United. Lit up Old Trafford from the bench and was rightly awarded with a goal of his own to wrap up the victory for the hosts.

Scott McTominay – 6

Made his return to action after missing the last seven matches due to injury. Did little to impact the game with the match wrapped up.

Anthony Elanga – 5

Came on with the game at 3-0 and didn’t do much to test Leicester’s broken resolve.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5

Kept things tidy at the back in the final 20 minutes and helped Manchester United to a clean sheet.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5

The 17-year-old made his Premier League debut with ten minutes to go.
