Manchester United return from the international break with a home match against Thomas Frank’s Brentford as the pressure builds on Erik ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag was spared an early dismissal as manager of Manchester United after the Red Devils drew 0-0 against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

United have scored just five goals in eight Premier League games and also currently sits in 14th in England’s top division, but it is business as usual at Old Trafford.

Thomas Frank has been linked with the managerial role at United and this weekend’s game against the Bees will certainly be an interesting one.

For the first time in a long time, United’s match in the Premier League will not be shown on live television; instead, it will be played during the Saturday blackout.

The two sides last faced off in the 2023/24 season, with United drawing 1-1 against Brentford. Mason Mount scored a late goal, but a loss would have been more deserving for the Red Devils.

A win, no matter how the club achieves that, will be needed on Saturday with the Red Devils remaining in the bottom half of the Premier League.

As mentioned, this game at Old Trafford will kick off on Saturday at 3 p.m. In the United Kingdom, any match that kicks off between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. is not legally allowed to be shown.

After a relatively injury-free beginning of the season, it appears the fitness problems are slowly creeping into Ten Hag’s side, again.

Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho all missed international duty with their respective national teams and are doubts for this match against the West London club.

As well as this, it has emerged that Noussair Mazraoui is dealing with a heart problem and he will be out of action for a few weeks. The depth at left-back, in particular, is concerning with there being rumours Jonny Evans could fill in on the left side of the defence.

Elsewhere, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia remain out injured so the concerns are mounting for Ten Hag.

The Red Devils are not alone in terms of dealing with a plethora of injury problems ahead of the clash at Old Trafford.

Mathias Jensen (calf), Rico Henry (knee), Aaron Hickey (thigh), Gustavo Nunes (back), Yoane Wissa (ankle), Igor Thiago (knee) and Josh Dasilva (knee) are all doubts for this game.

United need a win to ease the pressure on Ten Hag before the situation turns volatile.
