Manchester United supporters have named the team’s man of the match from the 2-1 victory at Aston Villa.
Erik ten Hag‘s hopes of qualifying Manchester United for next season’s Champions League are alive after an away win at Aston Villa.
The victory has closed the gap on fourth placed Villa to just five points, with Tottenham also in the mix.
Rasmus Hojlund scored Manchester United’s opener in the first half, before substitute Scott McTominay netted a winner with five minutes remaining.

Manchester United man of the match v Aston Villa
Manchester United supporters voted for the man of the match from the game via the club website and app.
Here is a look at how the voting broke down…
- Andre Onana: 24 per cent
- Rasmus Hojlund: 18 per cent
- Harry Maguire: 16 per cent
- Scott McTominay: 12 per cent
- Diogo Dalot: 10 per cent
- Bruno Fernandes: 7 per cent
- Kobbie Mainoo: 5 per cent
- All other players 4 per cent or fewer
Split vote shows strong team performance
Andre Onana was excellent in Manchester United’s goal, and he did get the highest match rating via live score service FotMob, with 8.9/10.
But there were terrific performances from players all over the pitch, as demonstrated by the split man of the match vote.
Harry Maguire was given the Sky Sports man of the match award, and it’s hard to argue with that either. There were five or six players who would have been very worthy winners, which will please the manager.
