After a poor 2-1 loss at home to Fulham on Saturday, United showed a fighting spirit to dig in and grind out a 1-0 win at Forest.
A solid defensive performance was matched by persistence in attack, which eventually paid off with a late winner from Casemiro.

Casemiro back in the goals
This was Casemiro’s fifth goal of the season for Manchester United, and a perfectly timed one, given the circumstances.
The winner avoided the need for the tie to go to extra-time or penalties, and exert extra energy ahead of the derby, with City already playing 24 hours earlier.
It was a timely confidence booster for Casemiro too, with this his first goal since returning from injury earlier this year.
Another goal and man of the match performance against City at the weekend would be very welcome.
