Manchester United’s Premier League campaign continued to stutter to a finish with a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth summing up their wasteful season.
A composed early start by Man Utd was broken in usual circumstances as Dorgu lost the ball in his own half ending with Semenyo unleashing a drive for Bournemouth’s opener.
United huffed and puffed in search of a response and went close a couple of times but never really looked like scoring to go into half-time trailing 0-1.
A red card for Bournemouth was the only big notable incident of the second half until Hojlund finally scored in injury time against ten men to salvage a well-deserved draw.

Here’s how the players rated-
Man Utd player ratings
Andre Onana – 6
No glaring errors but not convincing either with the odd occasion in the buildup.
Leny Yoro – 6.5
Tried to be front-footed in attacking the ball and looked good when it worked.
Harry Maguire – 6.5
Loves playing with the security of a back three and was his usual composed self.
Luke Shaw – 5
Looked like a player making his first start since February 2024 with his rustiness and sloppiness on and off the ball. Improved with time so more minutes should see him become important.
Noussair Mazraoui – 6
Hard to rate him harshly because he’s the quintessential soldier who played a new position again today. Did his best.
Patrick Dorgu – 5
Gave the ball away in his own half for Bournemouth’s opener. Trademark overlapping runs missing.
Casemiro – 5.5
Not secure enough with the ball. Intense teams bring the worst out of him as he’s exposed physically.
Kobbie Mainoo – 6
Tried to get United forward with jinking runs and had one dangerous shot but not consistent enough.
Alejandro Garnacho – 6
Usual story of the game as he looked most threatening but wasted all his chances, including one clear-cut.
Bruno Fernandes – 5
Found Garnacho with a brilliant pass that should’ve been converted. Struggled to get going otherwise.
Rasmus Hojlund – 6
Struggled again until he reacted nicely to Ugarte’s shot to score. Hojlund’s vicious cycle is hurting the team so the hope is that this goal breaks it.
Substitutes
Manuel Ugarte – 6
Made some threatening runs forward as he got precious minutes before the semifinal next.
Mason Mount – 7
Ran around with purpose and knit the play together. Should start on Thursday.
Victor Lindelof – 6
United needed to score and had a man advantage so he wasn’t really needed at that point.
Chido Obi – 6.5
Consistently looks more threatening than Hojlund whenever he comes on and that continued here.
Christian Eriksen – 6
Came on in injury time to play those probing balls against ten men of Bournemouth.
