Ruben Amorim’s first game as Manchester United’s head coach was not the outing he will have been dreaming of.
On Sunday evening, as Manchester United took on Ipswich Town, it was Marcus Rashford who gave fans something to shout about.
Amad Diallo settled confusion over his role as a wing-back within two minutes as he dribbled through the Ipswich defence before assisting the first goal of Amorim’s era.
However, United were unable to build on this and the game ended with Amorim’s Red Devils drawing 1-1 with Ipswich.
After the game, Amorim was far from pleased as he listed the various weaknesses his team currently have.
But despite his frustrations, there was one player who hardly put a foot wrong, this being Andre Onana.

Andre Onana was superb against Ipswich
While a point was not the ideal outcome for United against Ipswich, things would have been substantially worse without Onana being in top form.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper made five saves, with three being inside the box and two being simply exceptional.
On two occasions, Liam Delap found himself with a clear sight of goal only to be met by Onana who defied logic to deny the young Ipswich goalkeeper.
Aside from these two saves, Onana also made eight recoveries and one high claim with 36 of his 46 passes finding the target.
Onana is the man Amorim should be thanking for avoiding defeat in game one of his reign. But on X, fans were also thanking the 28-year-old.
Manchester United fans react to Onana heroics
Onana has been in immense form this season for the Red Devils, and this was no different for Amorim against Ipswich.
“Onana’s genuinely the best goalkeeper in the world”, claimed one fan on X.
While a second agreed with this bold claim: “Onana is genuinely the best keeper in the world right now. Can we appreciate him properly please”.
“This is an Andre Onana appreciation post. He has been unbelievable this season, let’s give him the credit he deserves.”
One final fan simply added: “I genuinely love Onana with all my heart.”
