Manchester United fans dropped their clear-cut verdict on Amad Diallo after his performance in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s final match in charge of the Red Devils.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who returned to Old Trafford in the summer, was appointed Manchester United interim manager last week after Erik ten Hag’s sacking.
The 48-year-old Dutchman was assistant manager to Erik ten Hag, who was axed by the Red Devils after United’s disappointing start to the 2024-25 campaign.
Van Nistelrooy kicked off his interim managerial reign with a 5-2 win over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup before a 1-1 Premier League draw against Chelsea.
The United legend also led the Red Devils to their first victory in Europe this season after a 2-0 win over Greek side PAOK at Old Trafford in the Europa League.
Van Nistelrooy’s four-match interim spell came to an end on Sunday after the Premier League clash against Leicester City at Old Trafford.
Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim will succeed Ten Hag on 11th November at Old Trafford after United triggered the 39-year-old Portuguese manager’s release clause.

Diallo starts for Man Utd vs Leicester City
Amad Diallo impressed during the European night on Thursday after the 22-year-old Ivorian attacker made his start against Super League Greece side PAOK.
The Manchester United winger scored a superb brace at Old Trafford in the Europa League and sealed all three important points for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men.
Van Nistelrooy rewarded Diallo’s display against defending Super League Greece champions with his place back in the starting XI for United against Leicester City.
Diallo made his presence felt in the first half after superbly setting up Bruno Fernandes for the Red Devils’ opener against Leicester City in the 17th minute.
The Ivory Coast international produced a cheeky backheel to United captain Bruno Fernandes, who fired in a stunning strike from the edge of the box.
Diallo remained lively in the first half and the United star was unfortunate to not add his name to the scoresheet, with the Red Devils leading 2-0 at half-time.
The United winger picked up more valuable first-team minutes in the second half, having struggled for regular action under Erik ten Hag this season.
Former United manager Erik ten Hag had used Diallo sporadically this season and Red Devils fans were often left frustrated by the lack of opportunities for the Ivorian.
Man Utd fans react to Diallo’s performance
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, praised Diallo for his impressive overall performance in Van Nistelrooy’s final match in charge.
Red Devils supporters have already made their prediction that Diallo will be the perfect fit for Ruben Amorim and the Sporting CP manager’s tactics.
“Amad [was] so close to adding [the] 3rd. He’s been brilliant for the last four weeks. Can’t wait for Ruben to turn him into a real monster,” one fan said.
Another added: “Amad has been lively. I hope he finally thrives under Amorim.”
Someone else commented: “Amad Diallo is perfect [for being] the Ruben Amorim right interior forward.”
“Amad knows that Ruben is watching. This is an interview,” a fourth tweeted.
While a fifth X user posted: “Amad Diallo is the spark we’ve needed on the right wing! Imagine what he could do under Ruben Amorim’s fast-paced tactics!”
And a sixth wrote: “I do have to wonder why Erik ten Hag didn’t believe in Amad Diallo that much.”
“Amad Diallo adds so much to this team. Pace and technical ability [are] through the roof,” another suggested.
An eighth said: “Amad Diallo. I don’t think there’s anything else to say other than his name should be one of the five first names on the team sheet every matchday.”
