Manchester United fans dropped their instant reaction on Antony after Real Betis’ clash with Chelsea in the 2025 Conference League final on Wednesday evening.
Antony fell down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim and the 25-year-old Brazilian winger was allowed to leave Old Trafford back in the January transfer window.
Real Betis made a move for Antony and the La Liga club agreed to sign the Brazil international on a six-month loan deal until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The La Liga outfit reportedly agreed to cover a majority of Antony’s Manchester United wages and the deal did not include an option to buy the ex-Ajax star at the end of his loan.
Antony has seen a turnaround in form at Betis and the United loanee has become a key player for Manuel Pellegrini’s men amid a superb run of form in recent months.
Ahead of the UEFA Conference League final against Chelsea, the United player scored nine times and registered five assists in 25 matches for Betis across all competitions.
Antony is under contract with United until 2027 and the Betis attacker is expected to return to Old Trafford in June once his loan deal with the Spanish side expires.

What Man Utd fans are saying about Antony after Real Betis’ 2025 UEFA Conference League final encounter with Chelsea in Poland
Antony started the Conference League final for Real Betis and the Manchester United star failed to have any real impact for the Spanish side at the Wroclaw Stadium.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, insisted that Antony was now showing his true colours after ‘going missing’ in the final.
One United fan said: “This still looks like United Antony to me…”
Another Red Devils supporter asked: “Antony playing tonight, lads?”
“Cash out on Antony immediately, man can’t handle [the] Premier League,” a third X user wrote.
Someone else tweeted: “For people saying Antony is showing true form at Betis… He isn’t. He’s scoring some odd wonder goals against bang-average defences. Playing a Premier League team tonight… Totally anonymous.
While a fifth posted: “Thought Antony was gonna show something today. [That] La Liga hype ain’t working vs a Prem[ier] [League] team.”
And a sixth argued: “Antony was [the] best thing since [sliced] bread in La Liga. United were called the problem. Explain to me why he can’t perform vs Chelsea?”
“This Antony performance just slashed £20m out of [his] transfer fee,” somebody else added.
An eighth claimed: “Antony folding when it really matters. It’s not the environment, it’s the players’ mentality.”
