Manchester United are set to welcome back two first-team players for their crucial UEFA Champions League game against FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are in dire need of a win against the Danish side, anything other than a win for the Red Devils could spell the end of Manchester United’s Champions League campaign.

A dreaded return to the Europa League would be disastrous for Erik ten Hag but the Dutchman could be set to see two first-team players, who have excelled in different stages of this season, return.

These two players would be welcomed additions to United’s team for the game.

Two United players return

According to the Manchester Evening News, Sergio Reguilon and Kobbie Mainoo are set to return for the Red Devils’ game against Copenhagen.

Reguilon will seemingly be the returning left-back in the team and this would be a huge boost for Marcus Rashford, in particular.

The English forward has struggled with no left-back behind him so the returning Spaniard, who joined the club on loan, has been a consistent threat down the left.

With Reguilon making overlapping runs ahead of him, Rashford will have the space and time to be able to create chances from the left and look more dangerous than he has done recently.

Mainoo’s return

The teenage midfielder, who graduated from the United academy, looked sensational in the pre-season games he featured in and it seems Ten Hag has also given an exciting update on the midfielder’s fitness.

He suffered a serious injury during the game against Real Madrid and has not featured for the Red Devils since then.

According to the Talk Of The Devils Podcast on The Athletic, Mainoo featured in a behind-closed-door friendly against Barnsley and was reportedly “sharp” during the game.

The return of the 18-year-old would be a huge boost for Ten Hag and it seems he is a big part of the Dutchman’s plans for the season.
