Manchester United defeat Luton Town in the Premier League…. just.

Manchester United were just a Ross Barkley header away from one point taken at Kenilworth Road, but luck was on the side of Erik ten Hag tonight.

We say luck, United did put on a show – for the first ten minutes. Two early strikes from Rasmus Hojlund were enough to ultimately settle the scores on the day.

The Dane was the stand-out star for the Red Devils, which led to lots of praise from various pundits.

Manchester United‘s number 11 was on his A game against Luton and added two more goals to his ever-expanding catalogue at Old Trafford.

Pundits, were impressed, including Jamie Redknapp and Luton Town defender Tom Lockyer, who spoke about his performance on Sky Sports post-match.

“I have to be totally honest… I didn’t have any doubts [about his goal-scoring],” Redknapp begins.

“If you can score goals in the Champions League, you can score goals in the Premier League. He’s really good into his feet, he holds up the ball really well.”

Lockyer responded: “I couldn’t agree more. He’s one of them strikers you just know you’re in for a tough day with.

“He’s always on the move, he’s always looking to get in behind. And he’s one of them players, he doesn’t just have the pace in behind, he can get it into feet and give you that nudge to put you off. I thought he was a real handful tonight.”

Gary Neville on Rasmus Hojlund goal

Speaking on Sky Sports commentary, after Hojlund’s first goal inside a minute, Manchester United legend Gary Neville also gave some immediate insight as to what he thinks of United’s latest wonderkid.

“He’s devastating. He’s in form and he looks like the real deal. It’s taken him a while to settle down, but Rasmus Hojlund is banging them in week in and week out, six games on the bounce.”

A once serial struggler, Hojlund is now getting praise left, right and centre. He’s seriously found his feet in England, but more importantly – his goalscoring touch. He now looks like a phenomenal purchase.
