Manchester United Team News

Erik ten Hag was impressed by Manuel Ugarte during the Uruguayan’s debut against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

In order to build up his fitness, Ugarte could well be handed an opportunity against Barnsley to try and bring the midfielder up to match sharpness.

Elsewhere Altay Bayindir could be handed a start for United in place of Andre Onana whilst teenage sensation Harry Amass could also be given a start after impressing during pre-season.

Toby Collyer was an unused substitute against Southampton, as was Brazilian winger Antony so it could be a safe bet to assume they will both start.

Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs De Ligt were substituted against the Saints and they could well miss out on the Carabao Cup clash as a precaution.
