Manchester United are looking to do the Premier League double over Liverpool for the first time in 10 years.

In the Premier League era, United have completed the league double over Liverpool eight times.
The last time this occurred was in the 2015/16 season when Louis van Gaal was the manager.

Even if United win on Sunday, Michael Carrick will not join that list because Ruben Amorim was in charge when United won at Anfield earlier this season.
Still, it would be an achievement if Carrick could lead United to their first double over the Merseyside outfit in 10 years. It would also give the Red Devils a six-point lead over their rivals in the league table.

Two members of the current squad, including interim head coach Carrick, were involved in the last United team that won a Premier League double over Liverpool.
Luke Shaw and Carrick started the first league meeting against Liverpool in 2015/16, when Van Gaal’s side won 3-1 at Old Trafford.
They both missed the reverse meeting as United came away from Anfield with a 1-0 victory.
Carrick and Shaw have experienced many meetings with Liverpool in the past, and they will be eager to add a victory to their records on Sunday.
