Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 3-0 on Tuesday night and pundit Gary Neville seemingly loved what he saw at Old Trafford.

The EFL Cup took centre stage on Tuesday with United hosting Premier League rivals Palace.

United were comfortably the better side here and took a 2-0 lead by half-time through Alejandro Garnacho and Casemiro.

Anthony Martial added number three after the break, giving United a fairly comfortable passage into the fourth round of the competition.

Gary Neville praises Manchester United performance

That’s now two wins in the space of a few days for United, with no goals conceded in either of those victories.

The hope is that United are now turning a corner after three straight defeats to Arsenal, Brighton and Bayern Munich.

Ex-United defender Gary Neville certainly enjoyed the performance on Tuesday as he took to Twitter to react.

Neville tweeted a seven-word verdict on United’s display – ‘the best United have played all season’.

That may not be an especially difficult bar to clear but hey, it’s progress all the same with Palace limited to just four shots in the entire game.

Three goals and a clean sheet is always welcome regardless of the competition or the opposition, with United needing a morale-boosting home win.

The task is for United to build on this and really kick on – especially with familiar opponents coming up this weekend…

United receive boost ahead of Crystal Palace clash

That’s right, United’s next game is against Crystal Palace, the second meeting between the two sides in just a few days.

Palace named a fairly strong side on Tuesday but we can expect to see a few changes for this Saturday’s meeting.

United will at least take confidence into that game having beaten Palace comfortably on Tuesday night.

Recording a third win in a week would be huge for United after a difficult start to the season, with Erik ten Hag now looking to build some momentum.
