Manchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace this afternoon.
Just as Manchester United were gaining some momentum, it came crashing down in the Premier League.
The Reds remain in the bottom half of the table after being leapfrogged by Crystal Palace following today’s 2-0 defeat.
United kicked off at Old Trafford with Crystal Palace just two points behind them in the table, but goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta meant Ruben Amorim’s side have slumped back down to 13th.
Palace have now won their last four league games at Old Trafford without conceding a single goal.
At this alarming rate, we can forget about finishing in the top four again.

Amorim made a huge call with his line-up to face Palace this afternoon.
The United head coach was expected to make changes against Palace, but nobody thought he’d line-up without a striker. It raised a topic of debate among fans on social with most coming to an agreement that both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee had been misfiring this season.
Amorim brought both players after 70 minutes, but United were still unable to salvage anything from the game.
It means United have five defeats in their last six home league games.
This type of form is what has United closer to the relegation zone than the top four.
If Amorim can find a way to amend United’s home form, we could be on to something before the end of the season.

To make matters worse, United have now lost seven of their first 13 home league games this season.
It’s a club record at this stage of a league campaign, with 1893-94 (also seven home defeats in 13 games).
The only way to amend these unwanted records is by winning football matches. Too many mistakes are costing us and United haven’t got enough in attack.
