Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted Manchester United’s man of the match against Everton.
Ronaldo came off the bench to score United’s winner, replacing Anthony Martial just before the half hour mark, after the Frenchman suffered another injury.
Ronaldo scored the winner after an assist from former Real Madrid teammate Casemiro, after Antony had scored an equaliser.
United won the game 2-1, with Ronaldo’s goal a milestone one, his 700th club career goal. 144 have come for Manchester United.

Manchester United man of the match v Everton
Manchester United fans voted for the club’s man of the match award and named Ronaldo as the star man, in a narrow poll.
Via the club website, Ronaldo had tough competition, with just a 29 per cent of a split vote share.
- Cristiano Ronaldo: 29 per cent
- Casemiro: 20 per cent
- Antony: 16 per cent
- Christian Eriksen: 8 per cent
- Marcus Rashford: 7 per cent
- Luke Shaw: 7 per cent
- David de Gea: 5 per cent
- Lisandro Martinez: 4 per cent
- Victor Lindelof: 1 per cent
- Anthony Martial: 1 per cent
To have such a split vote underlines how many United players made valuable contributions to the performance, from De Gea’s late diving save, to Martial’s assist before he went off injured.
This was Ronaldo’s first man of the match performance of the season, and it came in a game in which he started on the bench.
The match was also his first goal of the season from open play, and his first in the league. There should be plenty more to come.
Casemiro won the Premier League’s man of the match award, but fell narrowly short of Ronaldo in the United fan poll.
